Cold Laser Therapy Reduces Pain, Promotes Healing

Cold laser therapy is a safe, drug-free treatment that promotes faster healing, mitigates pain and inflammation, and repairs tissues in pets recovering from surgery or those suffering from certain conditions.

Targeted Treatments

Not all lasers are created equal. Some can harm the eyes and tissues. At Kainer Veterinary Hospital, we use a frequency-based, class 2 cold laser with twelve different frequencies that can be tailored to your pet’s specific condition, and it’s so safe that no protective eyewear is needed. We can also program our laser to emphasize the autonomic nervous system, with special settings for both the sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions. Cold laser therapy is extremely beneficial for ACL tears and disc diseases, and, in some cases, can eliminate the need for surgery

Conditions that benefit from cold laser therapy include:

  • Wounds
  • Inflammation
  • Lymphedema
  • Arthritis
  • Degenerative joint diseases
  • Ear infections
  • Tooth extractions
  • Sprains, strains, and fractures
  • Post-surgery pain
  • Lick granulomas
  • Tendonitis

When appropriate, we can use cold laser therapy in conjunction with other treatments, such as veterinary orthopedic manipulation or acupuncture, for added layers of customized relief.

Our Personal Connection

We know firsthand how difficult it is to watch a beloved pet suffer from chronic pain. Dr. Kainer added cold laser therapy to our hospital’s services following his own dog’s battle with lumbosacral disease. After researching the options, which included surgical correction or cortisone shots, he learned that cold laser therapy offered the safest, most promising solution. He is pleased to share this remarkable treatment with his patients at Kainer Veterinary Hospital.
